Low Stonebank Cottage
County Durham
Low Stonebank Cottage is a single-storey property with everything on one level except the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The ground floor opens into a combined living and dining space with a smart TV and electric fire, flowing directly into a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook properly. A small table lets you eat in, or take meals to the enclosed outdoor area. Upstairs, the double bedroom has a dormer window and the bathroom has a bath with shower attachment and heated towel rail.
The cottage is in Newfield village, eight miles from Durham city centre. Footpaths start from the door and lead into the surrounding countryside; the River Wear is nearby for riverside walks and picnics. Bishop Auckland, three and a half miles away, has shops, pubs and restaurants alongside Auckland Castle and the Kynren Spectacular (July to September). Durham itself offers the cathedral and castle, boat trips on the river, and a strong calendar of events including Lumiere and jazz festivals. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are provided. One well-behaved pet stays free. Smoking is not permitted in the property.
