Sauchope Links Holiday Park

Sauchope Cres, Anstruther KY10 3XJ, UK

Seafront pitches at Crail, about nine miles down the coast from St Andrews

About Sauchope Links Holiday Park

Sauchope Links sits on a low headland just east of Crail, making it the nearest truly coastal campsite to St Andrews – about twenty minutes up the road. Pitches run close enough to the shore that you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves, with views across the Firth of Forth to the Isle of May and, on clear days, the Bass Rock beyond. The park takes tents, tourers and motorhomes, with grass pitches for camping and electric hook-ups on the touring bays. Facilities include heated showers, laundry and a play area, and dogs are welcome. Being right on the coast it can feel exposed when the wind gets up, so peg out securely and pick a sheltered corner if a blow is forecast.

Crail harbour is a five-minute stroll along the shore path – one of the prettiest spots on the East Neuk, with a summer shack selling freshly boiled crab and lobster. The Fife Coastal Path runs directly past the site gate, and boat trips to the Isle of May puffin colony depart from Anstruther a few miles west.

What visitors say

Ken Glendinning

We booked for two nights touring here and we're lucky enough to be allocated the best pitch, on its own with uninterrupted views out to sea. The site it in a beautiful location, beside the beach, North of Crail and overlooking the Isle of May and across to East Lothian. The site is extremely well kept and the wardens are super friendly and helpful. They have a small shop in reception and have plenty of local information. The Touring area is a small part of a larger holiday-home site, with lodges and glamping pods, but is very quiet and nicely laid out. The toilet blocks (2 available near the Touring area) are well equipped and cleaned regularly all day. Lots of hot water in the showers the rooms are lovely and warm. Like all seaside sites, your experience is very much determined by the weather and in could be a very windy place in a storm, but it's one of the very best sites we've been to and we will be back. Thank You!

A short break in January and what a lovely place Crail and the surrounding area is. Our lodge was superb, we couldn't have asked for better and it came with a hot tub. The place was very quiet, being January, so we had the small beach area to ourselves. Stunning view of the north sea on our door step. Would highly recommend and will be back.

Fantastic views out to sea from our pitch, good toilets and showers 🚿, easy walk into town for a pub or restaurant. Unfortunately for us it was 50mph gusts of wind all night, so didn't sleep well, but on a summer day it would be a fabulous place to be.

Loved our caravan pitch stay for 2 nights. Most enjoyable and we had 2 dinners at The Golf, which was delightful, looking forward to visiting again.
