Premier Inn St Andrews

The heat in this hotel was unbearable. You cannot open the room windows, and the lowest temperature you can set it to is 19°C. The room felt like a sauna and made it very uncomfortable. The standard of cleanliness was also very poor. There were thick layers of dust in several areas of the room, and it was obvious the room had not had a proper deep clean in a long time. I’ve stayed in many Premier Inns over the years, and this was by far the worst I’ve experienced. We had both breakfast and dinner during our 2 night stay. The food was basic but tasty enough. However, the restaurant cleanliness let it down badly. We sat by the window and the blinds were filthy, the window sills had old ketchup splatters and food crumbs on them, the floor was very sticky, and even the cutlery did not appear particularly clean. The only positive aspect of our stay was the staff, who were polite, friendly, and helpful throughout. They did their best but many of them were having to do multiple roles at once.

Great rooms in good condition, ample free parking, right next to a M&S should you want to buy food. About 15 mins walk to old town centre but easy, straight walk. Staff not as valuable as they could be hence the lower score for service - no one available on check in to deal with a problem.

Good points. Usual comfy bed and location..staff friendly and helpful.. Not so good points For a premier plus room and the price we paid it disappointing..room in need of a deep clean and replacing the carpet..even a small window to open would help with the stale air in the room..dust in a lot of places and in need of some tlc..I appreciate housekeeping staff have a small window in which to do a change over but it's a lot of little things that matter..it might help them if check out was earlier and check in later..the room was so run down with temporary fix ups obvious and spoils the look of the room..for the price we expected better..

This premier inn is in a great location but I was really disappointed in the room. Our bathroom had not been cleaned properly there were hairs and marks on the surfaces and bath. The floor also did not appear to have been hoovered or cleaned and the amenities had not been fully restocked. The water temperature permanently changed from cold to boiling hot making the shower unusable. I’ve stayed in premier inns many times before so was disappointed this one did not meet the usual standard. The aircon also did not work in our room. Which is frustrating as it was one of the reasons we paid more for the upgraded room.
