Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park
Mount Melville, St Andrews KY16 8PQ, UK
Wooded touring park two miles inland from St Andrews at Mount Melville
About Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park
Craigtoun Meadows lies about two miles south-west of St Andrews at Mount Melville, on ground that was once part of a private estate. The park is laid out in mature woodland and hedged bays rather than one open field, which gives the touring pitches considerably more shelter and privacy than is usual on this coast—a real advantage when the North Sea wind picks up. Pitches are generously sized and mostly hard-standing with hook-up, and there are timber lodges available to rent for anyone who would rather not pitch at all.
Facilities are kept to a high standard, with heated shower blocks, laundry and WiFi on site, and the park has a long-standing reputation among touring caravanners as one of the better-run sites in Fife. The location is the other draw: Craigtoun Country Park, with its boating lake, miniature railway and Dutch Village, is immediately next door, which is a considerable asset if you're camping with children. St Andrews itself is a ten-minute drive or a pleasant walk along quiet lanes, and the road west opens up the rest of Fife. The park operates seasonally, closing over winter, so book weekends from June to September well ahead.

A brilliant few days here with our caravan. Super close to facilities. Water, electric and waste at each touring space. Toilets/ showers and cleaning up areas super clean!!! Fab wee park area outside caravans that we can watch the kids from our camping chairs. Food vans a great addition after setting up our caravan we had a relaxing tea. The big park was great where we played footy and went on the equipment...well kept! We biked to Craigtoun country park which was around 11 mins. Great location for a wee adventure with the kids. I will definitely be back.

I have never left a negative review before because I usually think it’s petty; but my family and I took our campervan here for one night and there was unfortunately no hot water when we got there. We could not shower or wash our dishes. We took a stroll around and it just looks like a corporate trailer park, where you have to pay for wifi in the campervan. And after we woke up, and there was still no hot water, so I asked for a partial refund. The man in charge said they wouldn’t pay out money for something that wasn’t their fault, despite me reasoning that it’s still their responsibility - especially when things go wrong. He brought up an analogy of if you order a taxi and it breaks down, but of course then you would never be expected to pay for it! This frustrating and boring stay cost us £46 for the privilege of the three of us and the dishes leaving dirty. What a bore and what a scam, they genuinely have no right to be in the hospitality business.
