Cairnsmill sits on Largo Road just south of St Andrews, making it the closest sizeable park to the town—Market Street is a twenty-five-minute walk, or there's a bus from the gate. The setting is level and grassy rather than scenic, which is the trade-off for being able to park up and explore the Old Course, cathedral and beaches without moving the car all weekend. Touring pitches run around thirty to thirty-two pounds a night for car, two adults and under-fives, and there are also pods, a bunkhouse and static caravans for mixed groups.
What sets Cairnsmill apart is the indoor offer: heated pool, gym, games room, soft play and a bar, plus a small trout fishery for anyone fancying an hour with a rod. That combination makes it a reliable choice when east-coast weather turns, so a wet afternoon doesn't mean huddling in the awning. It's a working family park rather than a boutique site—expect it to be busy in July and August—but for a base within walking distance of St Andrews' main sights, it's hard to better on price. Book well ahead for school holidays and the autumn golf weeks, when demand across town spikes.

Just back from another wonderful 2 week trip to Cairnsmill Caravan Park. This is a very well run family park and the touring facilities are excellent with super pitches as standard. Our grandkids enjoyed the football pitch. 3 playgrounds, soft play and large swimming pool. The weekend entertainment is top notch as are the food vendors providing fish and chips and pizzas. Looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent site... highly recommend. Friendly helpful staff...great position...spotless facilities and grounds. Brilliant dog walks leading off the lake to open country side.

Great campsite well placed for walking into St Andrews. One mile to centre downhill. Lots to do for kids swimming, 3 parks, games room soft play. Go every year with grand kids they love it there

It was a well maintained site with the access to a small swimming pool and a sauna steam room. The bar was a nice experience. The dog walk area a hidden gem. We had a lovely 3 nights there. Thank you
