About The Bugle Inn
A pint of local ale and a proper cooked breakfast set the tone at The Bugle Inn, a pub-hotel on Fore Street in St Austell. The restaurant and bar serve straightforward food, with kids' meals and packed lunches available for those heading out for the day, and there's a garden and outdoor seating for drinking or dining outside when the weather allows.
Rooms are simple and en-suite, with family rooms available and drinks provided on request. Practical extras include free WiFi, luggage storage and free on-site parking, and the inn also hosts weddings. Pets are welcome, making it an easy stop for those travelling with dogs.
St Austell town centre is on the doorstep, with coastal attractions within reach and golf, fishing, cycling and watersports all nearby, alongside other pubs and restaurants for those who fancy a change of scene. It's a no-frills base rather than a destination in itself, well suited to travellers who want a comfortable bed and a decent breakfast before heading out to explore Cornwall.

Had small roast pork which was plenty for me with lovely crackling plus my friends parsnips. Being a coeliac I had my own gravy boat and it came with roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, peas, mash, apple sauce and cauliflower cheese which pleased me as was gluten free and you don't get that everywhere. Was born in Bugle, lived at 13 Fore Street for 23 years, christened and married in the chapel and the first time I've ever been in the pub so at nearly 80 I have at last achieved that and thoroughly recommend their Sunday roast.

Rooms are basic, shower not that powerful, toilet flusher didn't work all the time. Room window was on main road through Bugle and because it was a hot day / night we had to prop window open with a coat hanger, alot of traffic kept me awake. What made the stay was the breakfast, best I've had in a long time.

Very nice accommodation in the inn. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are extensive! There is a tiny TV in the rooms which was nice. The breakfast was average. Friendly staff, convenient if you have dinner at the pub. Prices were reasonable. Burgers are very big!

Good tidy and well equipt room in a good location for those heading down to any location in Cornwall, saves some of the cost compared to the more popular areas. Some of the extra blankets on the bed could do with a more regular wash, so dropping a star for cleanliness, but the sheets, towels and surfaces were all spotless so overall a good room. Lively pub atmosphere and reasonable drink prices with decent music, had a nice evening in the pub. Unfortunately our main disappointment was no one provided breakfast even though we had paid for it, but management did sort us out a generous part refund after I gave them a call which made up for us having to go and buy it. Just wish we had been told beforehand.
