About The Chapel Guest House
Carthew puts you within reach of St Austell's well-known attractions, with pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby and walking areas close by for those who'd rather explore on foot. The Chapel Guest House makes a fitting base for it, being itself a converted 19th-century chapel now run as a B&B, with a character that sets it apart from the area's more ordinary lodgings.
Rooms keep original architectural features alongside modern comforts, and each comes with an en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and drinks available in room. Guests can start the day with breakfast on site, and there's a bar at the property for evenings in, plus a garden and outdoor seating for relaxing outside. Reception operates around the clock, and free on-site parking is provided.
Beyond the grounds, entertainment and further dining options are within easy reach, making it straightforward to combine a quiet stay in a distinctive building with evenings out exploring St Austell.

Highly recommend staying here! The room was lovely, comfortable and clean, the breakfasts were delicious and you could have whatever you wanted. Tracy really went above and beyond to help us, and I would love to go back again!! It's in a really good location - you can easily drive to lots of attractions and beaches. Overall wish I was still there, Nancy x

We had the most fantastic stay ! The room exceeded our expectations by a long way. They were incredibly clean and comfortable. Tracy and Richard were so warm and friendly and added some special touches to make us feel at home. Would love to visit again

We had the most wonderful stay at the chapel guest house. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly without being overbearing. The rooms were great, very clean and comfy in a nice quiet area. The breakfast was delicious with generous portions. Close to amazing the eden project (book taxis in advance if coming for a gig). Lovely pub for drinks up the road but the chapel house has a licence and has it's very own beer garden. Great parking and an all round great stay. We loved it and would definitely stay again. 10/10. Highly recommend.

Loved it from moment stepped in the Door to last bite of breakfast. Stayed two nights, cannot find any faults. Hosts super friendly and helpful. Interior spotless and beautifully finished. Thoroughly recommend. Good location away from hassle and bustle of town yes near lots of great places to visit, the Clay Mine Museum is literally on door step. The waterwheel is great place for diner, St Austell itself a short drive, Charlestown also nearby, a car is essential as little public transport nearby.
