About The Inn at Kippen

Fore Road runs through the heart of Kippen, the small village setting for The Inn at Kippen, with the countryside around Stirling stretching out beyond it and Stirling itself around ten miles off. It's the kind of spot where the inn doubles as the local gathering place, with a bar and restaurant that draw both residents staying over and diners from further afield.

Rooms are comfortable and well kept, offering solid value rather than frills, and guests get free WiFi, 24 hour reception and free on-site parking as standard. The restaurant is the property's strong suit, with generous portions of hearty Scottish cooking - a full Scottish breakfast, steak pie and venison all feature - served up by staff known for being friendly and attentive. There's also a bar for a quieter drink, meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay, and pets are welcome.

Stirling University sits nearby as a point of interest for those exploring the area, while Stirling itself is within easy reach for a day out. Luggage storage is available for anyone breaking up a longer journey through the countryside.

The hotel has a superb location right in the heart of the village. We stayed here for two nights over Pentecost weekend, a perfect start to our little trip through Scotland. The staff is very friendly and helpful, with an almost familial atmosphere. Unforgettable: the service/bar-woman's infectious laughter at dinner. Breakfast was very good (a small buffet and one à la carte dish). Dinner was good, partly very delicious. The portions were always a bit too large. The room was nice and clean, the beds comfortable. For a longer stay, the small room lacked a wardrobe. However, it was sufficient for our two nights. Unfortunately, there was always some litter in front of the hotel; three minutes and the first impression would have been much better. It is indeed an old, very romantic, and lovingly designed building. The village itself felt authentic and peaceful. A great base for us to explore Loch Katrine and Helensburgh. In short: highly recommended.

My husband and I had a lovely holiday last May and stayed a couple nights at the Inn. It was cozy, quiet and the food was delicious. Their Scottish breakfast was the best we had. We’re visiting again in the fall and have already booked our room!

A beautiful place to stay. Rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Tunnocks Tea Cakes as part of the complimentary tea and coffee, along with fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge. Breakfast was out of this world, full Scottish served on a plate that was hot, so it was warm to the end. I really recommend this place, and bar service was lovely and welcoming. Ask for George!

Would have given another star if we were only dining there. Food very good. Rooms basic but sufficient.
