About Dun Cow Inn

Dun Cow Inn suits visitors after straightforward, no-fuss accommodation attached to a proper working pub rather than a polished hotel experience. With only six rooms, it's a compact base for those passing through Stockton-on-Tees or exploring County Durham, and it works well for anyone travelling by car thanks to the free on-site parking.

Rooms are traditional in style, and guests have access to a restaurant and bar on site, plus breakfast and free WiFi. The kitchen has built a reputation for generous portions and a good variety of dishes, and the atmosphere throughout is warm and cosy, helped by friendly staff and well-kept restrooms. Service can be slower at busier times, so this is a better fit for guests happy to relax over a meal than those wanting quick turnaround.

Its Front Street address puts it within easy reach of Stockton-on-Tees' local attractions, making it a practical stop for exploring the town without needing to travel far from where you're staying.

I had a really nice experience at The Dun Cow Inn. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, perfect for relaxing with friends or family. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always ready to help and make sure everything was okay. The food was delicious and well-prepared, with a good variety on the menu. Everything we ordered came fresh and full of flavor. Overall, a great place to eat and enjoy a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend it and come back again!

Arrived just before last orders for food at 7.30pm. Both had roasts - one chicken (leg and breast) one honey roast ham slices. Both came with roast and mashed potatoes, cheesy leeks, cabbage, carrots, peas, swede, parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, sausage meat and THE best gravy we have had. Delicious and piping hot. We will definitely be back. During the week there's a more extensive menu plus specials. Lovely pub. We came here for the first time 34 years ago with my parents, for the first meal out with my husband to be. My mum introduced her parents to my dad here in the early 1960s (her future husband) and we introduced our soon to be daughter-in-law to my parents here six years ago too. .. I hope it stays the same here for many years to come ❤️ No photos of the food unfortunately, we were ravenous after a long journey☺️

We popped into The Dun Cow for some dinner before we went to Hardwick Park with the youngest. We were a little bit sceptical but when we saw other people's food come out we knew it was gonna be good. Plenty to choose from the menu's, didn't have a kids menu but the sandwich options could cover smaller appetites. Son had the tuna sandwich with chips, my wife had the scampi and I had Cajun chicken breast with pulled pork. Huge portions and food was fantastic. We couldn't finish any of it as we were stuffed. Three drinks and three main meals just shy of £50. We have definitely spent more on alot worse food. If you are ever passing get yourself in.

Arrived at The Dun Cow Inn a bit weary. Looking for a comfy place to sit & have something to eat. I was alone, recovering from a broken leg with bad nerve damage so a comfortable place to sit was needed. I was greeted by Richard, who was so cheerful & welcoming. I had a delicious & huge portion of scampi, chips, peas & salad with lots of of tartare sauce. The bar was very busy for a Monday afternoon. Each member of staff I encountered was very cheerful & pleasant. If you’re in the area, great wee pub for a tasty bar lunch or dinner.
