What visitors say
Bought some lovely fruit and veg here and enjoyed a cuppa in the lovely cafe. Walked the canal path north for a mile or two before walking back and following the canal and paths to Shugborough. On arriving back we sat outside the cafe in the sunshine and enjoyed a fruit scone and a cup of tea. Idyllic scenery and amazing location. Would highly recommend.

Visited the Canalside shop. Can only speak for the shop itself as we didn't visit the cafe or any other parts. The shop itself is beautiful inside, so many choices, very well priced and such a unique selection of products. You can get fresh cakes, muffins, bread, meat, fruit, veg and frozen choices such as chips, desserts and other items. There is also savoury options such as sausage rolls, pork pies, other pastries, again, plenty of choice. There is a fresh milk/milkshake machine outside which is completely self service and takes contactless payments, this serves small portions and large portions in a glass bottle. The choices are plain milk, vanilla, strawberry or chocolate, highly recommend this as it tasted very fresh. Only reason for the 4 star is parking, whilst we came at a busy period, as some areas of the car park aren't properly marked out, this results in abit of a free for all without any proper control of spaces, which means 10 spaces could turn into much less through fault of the general public, but better marking and structure would also help prevent this. Due to the growing increase in visitors also, further parking would be ideal.

First visit on January 23rd 2026 and it won't be the last. Nice rural location next to a canal lots of parking and I think I saw EV charging on offer. Good wheelchair and pushchair access. Lots of space. I was very impressed with the produce on offer, beautifully presented, see photographs. I am happy to pay for quality- this is not a cheap place to buy food but the quality makes it worth it for me. I bought lamb rump steaks, home made sausage, bread, a pork pie and a scotch egg. Plus some speciality apricot and almond packet stuffing. My friend bought some of the amazing cakes. I could have spent much more time browsing but we were hungry and went into the separate cafe. I had home made soup with a cheese roll, my friend had tuna and mayo on white. The soup was a decent portion and very good. The bread was wheatmeal and not that tasty, I would have preferred granary bread. My friend also thought her white roll wasn't that good. I think a bloomer would be better. Personal choice. The cafe is really light and roomy, don't sit near the automatically opening sliding door in cold or windy weather! It really dropped the temperature very quickly. A nice find and I will visit again.
