Tucked into the Warwickshire countryside with direct access to the Welcombe Hills, Arden Lakes Camping is a tiny, adults-only retreat that punches well above its weight. Ancient trees shade just a handful of fully-serviced hardstanding pitches, each with water, drainage and electric hook-up, while six fishing lakes stocked with carp and perch draw anglers and birdwatchers alike. The site runs on renewable energy and welcomes campervans at its motorhome service point, though dogs aren't permitted. If you value peace, big skies and easy access to Shakespeare country, this is hard to beat.
