About Moonraker House
Moonraker House stands at 40 Alcester Road on the western approach to Stratford-upon-Avon, and its selling point is position combined with price. The railway station is roughly 300 metres away, the town centre about 500 metres, and there is a supermarket practically next door, which makes it one of the most sensible choices in town for anyone arriving by train from London Marylebone or Birmingham.
It is an AA four-star licensed guest house run personally by its owners, with a small number of en-suite rooms named after Shakespeare characters. Titania has a four-poster, Viola works as either a double or a family room, and Peaseblossom is a twin. The rooms are traditionally furnished rather than minimalist, with free wi-fi, tea and coffee facilities and hairdryers as standard. On-site parking is included, which is a real saving given town centre rates.
Breakfast is a genuine strength: freshly prepared, cooked to order and using local produce, served in a small dining room rather than a buffet hall. Being licensed, the house can also serve a drink in the evening. The scale of the place means the owners know the town well and are used to steering guests towards theatre tickets, restaurant bookings and the less obvious walks. Anne Hathaway's Cottage at Shottery is about fifteen minutes on foot from the door, and Henley Street and the Birthplace around ten minutes the other way.
What guests say
This hotel was very comfortable and in a great location for my needs. Morris is a great host and makes you feel at home, attentive and you can see he really cares about his guests. Great value for money, considering a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning and parking available onsite were included in the fee paid, as well as being situated at a short distance from the centre of Stratford. I stayed in the single room, it has everything you need for a short stay, however, a few minor cleanliness issues, and a very small bathroom might not be ideal for longer stays. Personal preference of a different mattress and linen for the bed, and unfortunately road works and busy road until late, didn't provide me with the sleep I needed. If you are planning on booking, make sure you ask for a room with a window on the back and be aware that this toilet is very small. Overall, I would recommend.

This B&B is very well situated and well-maintained. The hosts were very polite and helpful and the breakfast was very nice. My only criticism is that our double room was small with the bed taking up the majority of it, and little space left to move around. The bathroom, which consisted of a toilet and a shower was very tiny and it was difficult to move in there without hitting the walls.

What an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Morris & Coco make you feel so welcome, comfortable, relaxed & well fed. We really enjoyed our stay. Only about a 15 minute straight, easy walk into the centre of town. Everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended & we’d definitely stay again. A*****
