This small-scale glamping site on the outskirts of Clare sits in a quiet corner of a well-established County Wildlife Site, offering lakeside and woodland pitches less than an hour from Cambridge and Colchester. Each unit comes with 240v power, picnic furniture and a firepit (wood available on site), while the barn kitchen provides a hob, air fryer, coffee machine and shared fridge for those less keen on open-fire cooking. Guests rave about the spotlessly maintained facilities and cosy, well-designed accommodation, though with just a handful of pitches, availability can be tight.
The real draw for many is the angling: two well-stocked lakes hold carp, bream and perch, and the surroundings — marshes, woodland, resident ducks — make for a proper wildlife haven, especially atmospheric when illuminated at night. Dogs are welcome on leads at the main site (but not near the lakes). ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at Rum Bridge Glamping for 4 days / 3 nights to celebrate my birthday in one of the Nomadic tents and had such an amazing time. The tent was lovely and warm inside, with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen facilities were great, and the showers/toilets were always clean, warm and well looked after. Everything had such a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. Special mention as well to their lovely dog, along with the friendly ducks wandering around the site who added even more charm to the stay. 🦆🐾 The fishing was brilliant too. We caught plenty of fish including tench, bream, carp and even a pike, which made the trip even more memorable. In the evenings we loved sitting around the fire pit watching bats flying overhead as it got dark. It felt like one of those rare places where time slows down a little. Charlotte and Joe were fantastic hosts and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. You can really tell how much care, passion and hard work they’re putting into Rum Bridge, and we genuinely can’t wait to come back and see how it continues to develop in the future. We’ll definitely be returning!

Me and my partner have no been here twice and would very happily keep coming here. Charlotte and Joe are absolutely amazing and Rum Bridge is a lovely location! The decorations around the whole place are beautiful and the accommodations are exactly what you need. The lakes to fish in are accessible and easy to fish in and they provide everything you need from fire pits to the use of the camp kitchen. Absolutely love staying here and will keep coming back as it’s an amazing campsite, would recommend to anyone :)

Amazing location, very satisfied with our stay. We felt very welcomed with my husband, great fishing and very cute ducks. Host is very lovely, it was a nice surprise that there was cutlery and electricity and super convenient for a comfortable stay. We will be visiting again. Thank you so much for everything, Odeta.
