This is NOT Empire Cinema, as that closed down several years ago. It is The Royal Cinema, which is part of a small independent Cinema group. The cinema has been restored in its original Art Deco style, has more screens than before, and has much more comfortable seating. It has been greatly improved. (I tried to update Google Maps to say The Empire had closed, but despite providing Photographic evidence my update was rejected).

Now called the Royal. It's been refurbished and is very comfortable, there are 2 seater settees and armchairs. Very Art Deco. It was designed in the 1930s by my husband's grandfather. There is a very nice bar, Staff are very nice and helpful too.

Amazing customer service, the young lad could not do enough for the three of us. He even moved a chair for me and my friend as I have a bad leg. All the team were so lovely. Joking with us. What an amazing experience we had. So professional. I have worked in management, and a customer service manager. There thought fulness, and caring attitude went a long way. Fabulous ambassadors for the Empire cinemas in Sutton coldfield. Well done. And thank you. Old school service. High street stores should take a leaf out of your book. No wonder there is no high street. 10 out of 10 from me. Thank you so much. We so enjoyed the film as well.

Love this place now it's been refurbished and reopened. Lovely friendly staff and nice and clean. Nice comfy seats with foot stalls and some recliners available. Only drawback would be the lack of parking as the old carpark is now a housing estate!
