Swallows sits on a working farm in the Tandridge countryside, converted from former outbuildings into a single-storey property. The setting opens onto farmland and woodland, with a public footpath running straight from the door through fields toward the village of Godstone, about a mile away. A scenic half-hour walk through the grounds and surrounding countryside reaches a pub in Tandridge. The immediate area suits those who want to be out of doors—there are gardens to explore nearby, including a walled garden restaurant at an adjacent centre—while London is accessible by train from Oxted, two miles off.
The cottage contains three bedrooms (one kingsize with ensuite shower, two with single beds) and a second bathroom, sleeping up to five. The ground floor is open plan, with a living area, dining space and kitchen where you can prepare your own meals. Essentials including electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. Parking for two cars is on site, and one dog stays free; it should be kept on a lead in the grounds. The property does not permit smoking.
Within an hour's drive lie several stately homes and gardens—Chartwell, Hever, Leeds Castle, Penshurst Place and others—along with Chessington Zoo and Brighton's seafront. Those interested in racing can visit Epsom, Lingfield or Brighton racecourses.
