About Long Acres Caravan and Camping Park

Family-run Long Acres sits in Surrey countryside just outside Lingfield village, striking a balance between peaceful retreat and practical touring base. The park is particularly popular with dog owners – pitches welcome pets year-round (small fee applies), and there's excellent walking straight from the gate into surrounding fields and woods. Three centrally heated toilet blocks earn consistent praise for their spotless condition, while the friendly team are noted for going the extra mile, especially around accessibility needs.

Grass pitches come with or without electric hook-up, and there's a well-stocked onsite shop, firepits for hire, and even tents available to rent. Lingfield village – a mile away – covers pubs, takeaways and supermarkets. The site makes a brilliant jumping-off point for both the High Weald and Surrey Hills national landscapes, plus historic gems like Hever Castle, Anne Boleyn's childhood home with its water maze and (slightly grisly) medieval torture display.

Some visitors note facilities can feel a little tired in places, but the warm welcome and genuinely dog-friendly ethos keep families and four-legged friends coming back.

Good location, shower and toilet facilities. It is near the Wire Mill Pub (walking distance) and to the Red Barn Pub. Attractions around the area Hever Castle ( worth a visit) and late 1500s King Henry VIII pub ( just outside the castle). British Wildlife Centre if you want to see the animals.Ear plugs are a must for goodnight sleep if you don't want to hear the sound of airplanes. Wifi is excellent. Nice walk to the Wire Mill pub from the campsite. Nice to see horses in the fields. Big pitch.

Be aware before booking: this campsite is directly under the Gatwick flight path, with planes passing low and frequently overhead. We booked expecting a quiet countryside stay — the listing we used made no mention of it. We arrived, realised within a couple of hours it wasn’t workable, spoke to reception and left the same day without staying. The grounds and toilet blocks looked clean and the staff were polite, so credit where it’s due, but the aircraft noise is relentless and worth knowing about in advance.

**Long Acres Caravan & Camping Park — Exceptional Hospitality and Accessibility** Long Acres Caravan & Camping Park in Lingfield truly stands out, and not just for its lovely setting. As someone with a disability that limits how far I can walk, I was genuinely impressed by how the team went out of their way to make access as easy and stress-free as possible. Nothing was too much trouble, and the staff were outstanding throughout, helpful, kind, and proactive in anticipating what was needed without ever making me feel like an inconvenience. It's rare to find somewhere that gets accessibility so right, and it made all the difference to the experience. A warm, welcoming park run by people who clearly take real pride in looking after their guests. I wouldn't hesitate to return and would recommend Long Acres to anyone, particularly those who, like me, need a little extra consideration. Brilliant from start to finish.

Lovely-looking site let down badly by the location. It sits right under the Gatwick approach and the planes are constant and loud — reportedly from very early morning. We didn’t even stay; we left a couple of hours after arriving once we realised we wouldn’t get any rest. Facilities and grounds seemed well maintained and reception were courteous, but for us the noise made it a non-starter and none of that was clear when we booked. Go in with your eyes open.
