About Premier Inn Taunton East

A restaurant and bar on site mean guests at Premier Inn Taunton East don't need to venture far for a meal, with breakfast also available to set up the day before exploring Somerset's countryside or Taunton itself. The hotel sits on Bridgwater Road, within reach of the town's amenities as well as nearby golf, fishing and horse riding for those wanting to fill their time outdoors.

The 83 rooms are en-suite, with accessible options available, and come with drinks available in room, comfortable beds and blackout curtains that make for a proper night's sleep. Spread across two floors, the hotel is straightforward in layout, though some rooms have been noted as showing signs of wear rather than being kept in consistently fresh condition. Staff have been described as friendly and professional, adding a personal touch to what is otherwise a practical stopover.

Free on-site parking is available, including for those who register their vehicle at reception, and an electric vehicle charge point is on hand too. Beyond the hotel, pubs, restaurants and eateries sit nearby for anyone wanting a change of scene, making it a workable base for both business stays and short breaks in Taunton.

I had a generally good stay. The staff were lovely and worked really hard, though it was clear they were understaffed and busy. The room was hot, but they thoughtfully provided a fan, which was appreciated. However, the bathroom had a damp smell, which I discovered was from the shower curtain. I also request extra toilet roll from downstairs in reception which wasn’t ideal. On the positive side, the Beefeater across the road had lovely food. Overall, I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5.

Avoid Room 103. I arrived after 10pm when it was cool outside, but the room was still 29–30°C, hot and stuffy. The windows were open and the fan was already running, but it made no difference. The corridor and reception were much cooler, so the issue was clearly with this particular room. I hardly slept, and Premier Inn refused a refund because a fan had been provided. I would not stay there again.

Location is fine. Hotel is horrendous. Run by staff that don't care customer satisfaction. Room had some extractor fan which was so loud I had to remove the ceiling panels to turn it off. The toilet was making very strange noises. And temperature control didn't work. The beefeater restaurant was fully booked but there was no one in it and they closed it and the bar at 9pm. And evening staff on desk are rude and unprofessional. And trying get refund off this lot is proving harder then I thought because they lie about you. They blatantly lie. Horrible hotel run by horrible company.

Easy to get to staff very helpful but the room was looking very tired. Cobwebs around the ceiling marks on the walls and the tv was set to 15 on volume and you could barely hear it. The bathroom ceiling had a very bad Crack in it and bathroom needed a refurbishment as it was looking very tired. This was a disabled room.
