Tucked into a hidden valley on a 70-acre working farm in the Quantock Hills, Lydeard Farm offers something genuinely different: an entire three-bedroom lodge and surrounding site for your group's exclusive use. It's perfect for extended families or friends wanting a proper escape – with virtually no mobile signal and no wifi, a digital detox comes as standard. The setup is brilliantly self-contained, with a bush camp shelter housing a fully equipped kitchen, woodburner and dining area, plus outdoor barbecue and firepit (firewood provided) for atmospheric evenings under the stars.

The farm's own network of trails makes this a walker's and mountain biker's dream, while a full-size pitch dubbed 'Wembley' awaits football, rounders or whatever game takes your fancy. You'll need to bring bedding for the bunk beds, but otherwise it's all sorted. Bridgwater, 15 minutes away, covers supplies and pub options. A wonderfully peaceful slice of Somerset countryside to call your own.
