Dawlish sits on Devon's coast between Exeter and Torquay, with red sandstone cliffs, a shingle beach and woodland paths inland. Ashcombe – Endeavour is a restored farmhouse on Woodhouse Farm, a small estate with a shared heated swimming pool, games room and grounds. The whole property is yours alone, with seven bedrooms split across two floors and six bathrooms, sleeping up to 15 people.
Ground floor rooms include a large living and dining space with a woodburner, sofas and a Smart TV; a kitchen with an Aga, electric oven, dishwasher and the usual appliances; and one double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Upstairs are six more bedrooms: two doubles, one with two singles, two with three singles each, and one single, with five ensuites and a shared bathroom. The property comes with bed linen, electricity, heating and superfast Wi-Fi included. A private garden has a hot tub and seating; the sauna sits on the grounds. One well-behaved pet stays free. Children are welcome; cots and high chairs are available.
The location works for groups wanting space to spread out, families needing multiple bedrooms, or anyone drawn to the coastal path walks and beaches nearby. Hill and woodland trails start from the door; the shared estate facilities include the pool and games room. Smoking is not permitted throughout.

We have just come back from a weeks stay at the Cider Barn, the weather has been exceptionally hot this week so the private pool at the barn was used constantly. Our party consisted of 8 adults and 8 kids. We used the inside pool at the Woodhouse farm and the rota is a great idea and we often has the pool to ourselves during the 'open' slot. The road to the pool is narrow so we chose to drive each time. The barn is well kitted out for 18 and it is very comfortable. We needed to contact the owner on a couple of occasions and they were super helpful and quick to answer our questions - and help us recover a small dog to its owner! The kids enjoyed the turkeys coming up the lane too. There is a great deal of things to do in the area, we went to Canonteign Waterfall, this is a must for anyone visiting the area. We also did a run at Dalton Park which is fabulous for kids and adults alike, the coffee shop and ice cream is lovely. Thankyou so much Ashcombe and I do hope we can come back again soon, lots of sweet memories made in this family holiday this week.

We recently stayed at Endeavour for a family weekend away to celebrate two 60th birthday celebrations, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The house comfortably accommodated 11 adults and 2 children with plenty of space for everyone to relax together. The lovely large kitchen and dining room quickly became the heart of the house, ideal for family breakfasts, evening meals and celebrating together around one table. Everything was well equipped and perfectly suited for larger groups. The beautiful weather also meant we were able to make full use of the private hot tub, a real treat over the weekend. Another highlight was the activities barn and indoor swimming pool, an excellent addition and gave us more to enjoy during our stay (the rota for the pool is an excellent idea). The enclosed garden was fantastic for our 2 dogs, it meant we could safely enjoy the outdoor space while we relaxed worry free. A very special mention must also go to local caterers 'Lyn's Catering', director and head chef Linda Mortimer, who came in to cook a celebratory meal for the birthday evening with the help of lovely Lucy. The food and service were wonderful and made the occasion feel truly special and memorable. We couldn't have chosen a better place for such an important family celebration and would highly recommend Endeavour for large family gatherings, celebrations and special occasions. Family of 11 stayed for a weekend in Columbia cottage. We had a wonderful stay. The detail in description was perfectly right. Lovely sized cottage, had everything we needed. Great sized enclosed private garden with stone bbq and stunning views. The swimming pool was really clean and was at a good temperature, we enjoyed having our long private swim slots each day, with option to request a time change, it worked really well for us. The games room was a brilliant addition. The cottages are in a very remote location, perfect to hear the birds singing and having a peaceful break away.

Wow what a beautiful place. We have just arrived home from our holiday in Nut Tree house. It was perfect for our large group. Plenty of space and a bonus that every room was en-suite. Both pools and games room were great and we all loved it including the sauna. Beautiful places to visit locally. Everyone said they had the best time and I will certainly remember my 50th birthday. We will be back.
