Newton Abbot sits on the edge of countryside that reaches toward Devon's coast within a short drive. The Smithy – Glamping Pod 2 is a standalone log cabin on a smallholding just outside the town, where fields and grazing animals form the backdrop. You have the whole property to yourself, with private parking for one car and an enclosed front garden complete with patio, picnic bench and barbecue.
Inside is a single bedroom with a kingsize bed, an open-plan living and dining area, and a kitchen fitted with electric oven, hob, fridge and microwave. The ensuite has a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. A sofa bed in the living space provides flexible extra sleeping. Throughout, you'll find bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating included, plus a welcome pack. If you're bringing a dog, one pet stays free and the owners provide a portable wash station and towels; the enclosed garden gives them a secure outdoor run.
The coast is four miles away, making this a practical base for beach visits or countryside walks across the South Hams. Local pubs and restaurants are within reach. No smoking inside the pod.

Me and my wife have just come back after spending the week at the glamping pods with our dog we felt so welcomed by the owners and have already booked for next year. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had the pleasure of staying in Pod 2 with our two dogs, the pod.was spotlessly clean, well equipped and homely. Debs and Andy were perfect hosts and nothing was to much trouble. The garden was secure and the view beautiful. There was fresh chicken and duck eggs and milk. Would highly recommend and happily give more stars if we could! We will definitely be returning, this is a hidden gem!

We’ve just had a lovely three night stay in pod1. Much more spacious than we expected and plenty of pots, crockery and utensils. Lovely outlook of sheep, grass and ducks and your enclosed ‘garden’ is quite large with a bench plus bbq and zero gravity chairs for chilling on sunny days. So much attention to detail by the friendly owners is what makes these pods stand out. Definitely recommend and will return.
