The single bedroom has a double bed; additional sleeping comes from a sofa bed in the living room, taking the capacity to four. A bathroom with ensuite facilities, kitchen with full cooking equipment, and a separate lounge give you separate spaces to spread out. Wheelchair access throughout and low worktops make the cottage suitable if mobility is a consideration. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are provided, along with a washing machine and tumble dryer in the shared laundry room.

The cottage sits on a working farm with two acres of grounds where you can spot wildlife. You have private parking for two or three cars and a patio with garden furniture. The nearest shop is a short walk away; a pub is roughly two miles off. From here, several small towns are within half an hour's drive: Brightlingsea, Wivenhoe, Mersea, Clacton, Frinton and Walton-on-the-Naze all make for day trips, while Colchester with its castle and cobbled centre is close enough for an afternoon out. The surrounding countryside suits walking and birdwatching, with creeks to explore and villages associated with Constable's paintings nearby. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
