Broadhembury Caravan & Camping Park

Steeds Ln, Kingsnorth, Ashford TN26 1NQ, UK

A well-run touring park in orchard country, about 8 miles from Tenterden

About Broadhembury Caravan & Camping Park

Broadhembury sits on the edge of Ashford, tucked among orchards and farmland roughly eight miles east of Tenterden, and has built a loyal following among touring caravanners and tent campers over several decades of family ownership. The park spreads across level grass and hardstanding pitches, with mature trees breaking up the site and giving it a settled, established feel rather than the bare-field look of some newer touring parks. Five timber glamping cabins now add a ready-made option for those who'd rather arrive without canvas or caravan.

Facilities are geared squarely towards self-sufficient touring: electric hook-ups on the majority of pitches, a modern shower and toilet block kept to a good standard, and free Wi-Fi covering the reception and communal areas. Fire pits are allowed on pitches, which adds atmosphere on cooler evenings. Note that the site no longer welcomes pets and has no chemical waste disposal point, so tourers with dogs or motorhomes needing full facilities should check alternatives nearby.

The park's real advantage is location: Ashford International station is a short drive away for anyone wanting to combine touring with a day trip into London or across on Eurostar, while Tenterden, Chapel Down vineyard and the Kent & East Sussex Railway are all within twenty minutes by car.

We stayed in the adult only part. Pitches were spacious and well maintained, each pitch had its own picnic bench. Toilets, showers and kitchen were spotless, kitchen also contained a microwave and fridge if you needed to store food. Could pay additionally to use washing machine and tumble dryer. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Beautiful site. 😊

We booked this as we needed to be close to Dover for an early ferry & our normal site was closed. We had asked if a/ we could leave before 630am and b/ if there was any way we could stay hooked up so we wouldn't have to make too much noise when left. Admittedly we stayed here before peak summer on a Monday night so experiences might be different on the August Bank Holiday but the two guys who met us at reception couldn't do enough for us. They sorted a pitch where we could drive on/off with no problems & exit was via a keypad so no problems there ("Leave when you like, this isn't a prison"!!) Facilities were modern, clean & very well appointed. Overall, an excellent overnight stop for a ferry crossing & highly recommended!
