We stayed at the Hartnoll Hotel the night before a family breakfast gathering following the passing of my sister in law. We had a cosy double room which didn’t have a view and looked over the flat roof and a/c units but was extremely comfortable and I adored the curtains and the beds were mega comfy. For the money it was good value and the bathroom excellent and very up to date and smart. The staff including incredibly glamorous and efficient Romanian receptionist were amazing. Nelson the Restaurant manager was outstanding. He noticed when I’d not had a bread roll (I’d declined) and brought more sauce for my delicious Trout main course! He arranged a private dining room for our family the following morning which was so kind and extremely intimate for such a sad gathering. Honestly I loved the Hotel. It has a style and relaxed yet old school elegance and having staff like Nelson and his well trained staff made it a really lovely visit. The dinner was excellent as was the breakfast. I love piping hot food so that would have been the only slight note but overall an outstanding place to say and grounds and rattan furniture and conservatory dining room were superb.

Had a fabulous lunch in the garden for my husband’s birthday- the staff could not have been more helpful, catering for all our needs across 3 generations! The food was delicious and the service really efficient with attentive waiting staff. Thanks for making it such a special occasion for us.

Lovely hotel close to Tiverton. Good value. Good room, even the cozy double was a good size. Restaurant and bar extended into beautiful garden. Good food, excellent breakfast. Experience slightly dampened by waste truck picking up trash (including glass) at 6:45am right outside bedroom. No need for setting an alarm. Good experience overall, nevertheless.

I cannot speak more highly of the lovely people at The Hartnoll Hotel who looked after our family so beautifully yesterday for my 70th birthday lunch. The service is warm and personal, and the cuisine is sensational. Little touches make such a big difference. The hotel stands head and shoulders above everything else locally; clearly the result of a lot of hard work, and it shows.
