Atherfield Apartments - Sunny Side

Photo: Atherfield Apartments

Sunny Side is a studio apartment on the first floor of a building in Roundham, Paignton, sleeping two people in single beds. The open-plan layout combines living, dining and kitchen areas with a shower room. You get electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi; the kitchen has an electric oven, hob, fridge and microwave for self-catering. There is on-site parking for one car.

The apartment sits in an elevated position within Paignton's harbour town, a short walk from the seafront, town centre and local shops. Goodrington's leisure facilities are nearby, as is Paignton Pier. The area suits people wanting a seaside base without driving far—Torquay and Brixham are accessible for day trips, and the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway runs coastal routes. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Super holiday apartments ranging from couples only to families. There are several different types of apartments that we found through the Air B and B site. Our apartment 8 (Roof Tops) was quirky, set on two floors and in the roof space with super views. A new bathroom with small bath and super shower over. Very peaceful with sounds of the seagulls and tooting of the steam train on occasions. The bustling harbour and shops is only a short walk down the road and further along is Paignton beach and attractions. A further and prettier walk along the coastal path and gardens takes you to Goodrington beach. Our host was a super person to talk to and extremely knowledgeable about many subjects. The car park is smallish and you need to be mindful with the host about the best position for your apartment and idealy let her know your car size so that she can greet and guide you upon arrival.
