Samphire

Samphire is thoroughly equipped for self-catering. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all included. There's parking for two cars on site, an enclosed garden with furniture, and a balcony overlooking it. A cot and highchair are available for younger children.

The house spreads across three levels. Downstairs is the kitchen and dining space, then a living room with a balcony on the ground floor. Four bedrooms are split between the ground and first floors: two singles in a bunk configuration, and two doubles. You get two bathrooms with shower cubicles and a separate bath. One dog is welcome. The property is no smoking.

Brixham's working harbour is within walking distance, lined with fishing boats and trawlers. The town has chip shops, cafés, restaurants and regular buses to Paignton, Torquay and Goodrington. Nearby attractions include Paignton Zoo, a water park, Greenway (Agatha Christie's home) and the steam railway at Buckfastleigh. Shops are a quarter mile away and a pub 200 yards.
