A 32-room hotel on Hesketh Crescent in Torquay, with sea views and both indoor and outdoor pools on the English Riviera.

About Osborne Hotel

Hesketh Crescent gives the Osborne Hotel its setting, a sweep of Torquay overlooking the sea that guests notice as soon as they arrive. The 32 rooms are well sized and kept clean, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks in the room, and family rooms available for those travelling with children.

There's a restaurant and bar on site, along with a snack bar and outdoor seating for lighter meals, plus room service for guests who'd rather not leave their room. Breakfast is served daily, and while it does the job, it's fair to say it's simpler fare than the afternoon tea and evening menus, which get more consistent praise. Beyond eating and sleeping, the hotel has an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, and a spa with sauna, as well as a garden and picnic area for time outdoors.

Staff are attentive and the free on-site parking is a genuine convenience in a town where that's not always easy to find. The location puts golf, fishing, watersports, and walking routes within reach, along with pubs and restaurants nearby, and the hotel itself can also host weddings and meetings for those planning an occasion beyond a simple stay.

We had a delightful 5 nights at The Osborne and took advantage of all it has to offer- a gorgeous outdoor pool, lots of games on the grounds, a spectacular terrace for a drink. Really appreciated the care they take with their gardens. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. We were concerned going in that it might be too remote but we walked to town every day. It is a short hilly walk. There is also easy access to the beach and oceanfront trails. Can’t wait to return another summer.

We were incredibly lucky to have our wedding at The Osborne Hotel. It’s in such a beautiful area, it was the perfect venue for our special day. We were so lucky with the weather, which meant we could fully appreciate the stunning views. Our friends and family kept commenting that it felt as though they were abroad. From start to finish, our wedding day was perfect. Haidee and her team were exceptional, ensuring everything ran smoothly and allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. The food was delicious, and the staff were attentive throughout the day, regularly checking in to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. Thank you to everyone at The Osborne Hotel for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime. I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone planning their wedding. The Osborne Hotel will always hold a special place in both mine and my husband's hearts. It’s a place we'll continue to visit for years to come – and one we'll always associate with the best day of our lives!

We stay here 4 nights, our room was big and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We have two dinners at the hotel, both were good and good value. We did not have the best of weather while we were here, so we did not get a chance to try the outdoor pool, it looks great. We did used the indoor pool and the gym both were good size for a hotel. This hotel is in a great location with great views.

We had a big room and bathroom at the side of the hotel. It’s a lovely old building so of course it’s a bit quirky but it was clean and tidy. All the staff were friendly and helped with our luggage. The breakfast was fine. It’s a 15 min walk to town and if you cab back, flag down a local (£7) and forget Uber (an unbelievable £23)
