Alscott Cottage

You open the front door of Alscott Cottage into a substantial ground-floor living space that does the work of a whole house. The open-plan layout contains a fully fitted kitchen, a dining area with a large oak table, and a comfortable seating zone with a smart TV, all flowing together without walls to divide them. Upstairs, two bedrooms and a shower room with modern fixtures occupy the first floor. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed and views stretching out towards Exmoor and the north coast; the second has adult-sized bunk beds with reading lights and side tables. A small contemporary bathroom offers temperature-controlled shower and vanity lighting with charging points.

The cottage stands in open countryside near the hamlet of Alverdiscott, with Instow beach 15 minutes away by car and the towns of Barnstaple, Bideford and Torrington each under 10 minutes' drive. The exterior includes a large hot tub that seats six or seven, garden seating, a working barbecue, and off-road parking for two vehicles. Space exists for bikes and boards. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included; the kitchen has what you need to cook properly. One dog is welcome to stay at no extra cost. No smoking is permitted indoors.
