Bude's beaches are ten miles away, Holsworthy's pubs and shops a single mile, and the 23-acre grounds of Higher Shorston Lakes and Lodges form a private world between them. Bluebell Lodge sits on this working site where fishing lakes, nature walks and a children's play area occupy the shared land around your detached, single-storey home.
Everything happens on one floor: an open-plan living space with French doors opening to a decked terrace, where a barbecue and garden furniture are already set up. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. Two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with two singles—each have their own ensuite. Essentials like linen, towels, heating and WiFi come as standard. A travel cot and highchair are available if you need them.
One dog can stay free. The property is non-smoking. There are two steps down to the garden and a fenced lake lies ten yards from the lodge. You'll need an angling licence to fish the on-site lakes, and a single parking space is provided.

Lovely CAMC CL site with 4 pitches plus 3 holiday lodges. Pitches overlook a huge open green area with small park. Site is immaculately tidy with well kept trees and lawns. There are 3 fishing lakes on site and some walk areas. Very quiet and dark night site. Access is tight but manageable (fine with a 8m touring caravan and pick up truck). Pitches are accessed off a slope and could benefit from a 4x4. Pitch 1 has its own seating area and is the top of the slope but will be under tree shadows later in the evenings. Pitch 2 appears to be ‘best’. Pitch 3 & 4 has the Elsan and grey water point between them next to your grassed area. Each site has a gravel pitch plus a grassed area.

Stayed for a week towards end of March. Amazing place and very warm welcome on arrival. Large lodge, with everything you could want in a self accommodation. Requested a high chair and cot, which was waiting for when we arrived. Never used the cot in the e d but the high chair was enjoyed by our 7 month old. Good location, few minutes drive from nearest town, but being in the lodge you’d think you were nestled deep in the countryside, surrounded by ducks, geese and chickens. Hopefully, look at staying here again in the future, would very much recommend.

Our first reaction of Primrose lodge was 'WOW'. the lodge was bright, spacious and absolutely spotless. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything in good working order. The outside patio area is perfect for sitting out appreciating the beautiful countryside and lakes including the on site entertainment team i.e. the geese with their regular fly over and lake landing, and the hilarious ducks who sound as if they are laughing with each other, this made us chuckle out loud. The grounds are very neat tidy and maintained to a very high standard. Fishing was great here all nice looking fish in pristine condition. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and genuinely appreciate people enjoying their property. we could easily spend the whole summer here. Paul, Sarah and John.

A beautiful setting, and the lodges had everything we needed! The fishing was great, close to the town, perfect for dog walking and also only 15 mins drive from Bude. Owners were kind and helpful, and we would thoroughly recommend a stay here. We're already thinking of going back! Thank you Kizzy and Brett, we loved it!
