About Dolgoch Bunkhouse
Tucked into the hills near Tregaron, Dolgoch Bunkhouse offers back-to-basics camping in a genuinely remote spot – the kind of place where renewable energy, a communal fridge and a washing-up area feel like luxuries. With non-electric grass pitches, it's pitched squarely at walkers, cyclists and anyone chasing a proper escape: think lakeside views, mountain scenery and enough birdsong to drown out the world. Groups (students, single-sex, motorcyclists) are welcome, and there's a barbecue on hand for evening cook-ups.
The 4.9 Google rating reflects its appeal to those who value peace over polish. No pets allowed, but with mountain biking and walking trails on the doorstep, you'll have plenty to tire yourself out. Just don't expect frills – this is wild Ceredigion at its rawest.

Visited 5 times already with friends and family. Stunning views driving into this hidden gem and perfect for stay with group. I would suggest to take cooking groceries to enjoy cooking experience. Lots of games and cards available for kids.

If you’re looking for a place to unwind and disconnect from the pulls of daily life and busyness, Dolgoch is for you! Surrounded by good company and the beauty of the Cambrian Mountains (Brecon and Snowdonia also nearby), Dee and Richard welcomed us warmly to what was an awesome weekend off-grid.

Thank you for a fabulous weekend. We could have sat all morning watching the birds (especially siskins) on the bird feeder, but sadly we had hills to climb on our bikes! The hostel was brilliant. Well equipped for our group of 10 and plenty of hot water from the solar panels 🙏🏻

Without dout, Dolgoch Hostel was the highlight of my gravel bikepacking adventure from North to South Wales. Off grid, away from roads and about ten miles from the nearest settlements meant dark night skies and star gazing well into the small hours then awakening a few hours later to an incredible chorus of birdsong! The hostel is unique and location stunning! Dolgoch is extremely well organised and run by volunteers. Well kept and clean throughout, all the essentials after a tough day in the Cambrian Mountains are provided ...comfortable bed, communal areas, hot showers well equipped kitchen etc.
