Goodwood Racecourse

The Festival Of Speed itself was bloody superb as always so much to see & do, it was damned hot though so glad we had grandstand seats! Campsite E1 was ok but far from perfect, the washing up cabin always had blocked sinks & no cleaning was done to get rid of the old food in the sinks or left on the worktops as there was no bin available, on the sunday morning the floor had flooded from the waste pipes! The water supply ran out a couple of times so there was no water in the taps or to flush the toilets which got pretty grim, there also appeared to be no cleaning done during the evenings as often the toilets were a mess in the mornings & for this experience I deduct a star. Would like to return next year but as retirement looms I don't know if the pension will stretch that far, we will have to see!

The staff onsite were great and were working in challenging circumstances (poor weather). The weather can't be helped, it's nature. The state of the showers, mud blocking everything up, could have been dealt with better with more regular cleaning in the background though. And maybe more woodchips put down earlier to help work paths. Shuttle service was also a great plus but it's actually not that far to walk.

The Goodwood Revival 2023 was an event that will forever hold a place in my heart. Despite the extreme heat, the fans showed up in full force, donning their classic fancy dress attire. It was a sight to behold, as if we had stepped back in time to the golden era of Motorsport. The heat was relentless on both Friday and Saturday, but that didn't dampen the spirits of the attendees. The Revival village was buzzing with excitement, filled with revelers and shoppers alike. The temporary village had a nostalgic charm, offering a wide range of retro products and clothing. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the classic car races. Throughout the week, hundreds of these magnificent vehicles took to the track, driven by our beloved heroes and racing enthusiasts. It was a surreal experience witnessing the legends of the past alongside current champions and celebrities such as Rowan Atkinson, Matt Neal, Gordon Shedden, and Jensen Button. The roar of the engines and the smell of burning rubber created an atmosphere that was electric. Millions and millions of pounds worth of classic cars graced the race, including the famous Ferrari Breadbin beast and several GTOs. It was a dream come true for any car enthusiast to witness these rare and iconic vehicles in action. Unfortunately, a few incidents occurred, resulting in some very costly damage, reminding us of the risks involved in the world of Motorsport. While the races were the main attraction, the Goodwood Revival had much more to offer. There were food trucks serving delicious delicacies, and 60s cinema areas that allowed us to indulge in the nostalgia of the era. One of the most memorable moments was the special circus acts performed in a circus ring. It was a delightful addition to the event, bringing forth a sense of wonder and amusement. As someone who had attended Goodwood multiple times, this was my first Revival experience, and it surpassed all my expectations. The atmosphere was nothing short of magical. The camaraderie among the fans, the passion for classic cars, and the general sense of nostalgia created an environment that was truly special. Leaving the Goodwood Revival 2023, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness that it had come to an end. However, the excitement for the next year's event was already building within me. I couldn't wait to relive the unforgettable moments and create new memories during the entire duration of the Revival. In conclusion, the Goodwood Revival 2023 was a trip down memory lane, filled with phenomenal racing, classic fashion, and a vibrant atmosphere. It was an event that celebrated the golden era of Motorsport and allowed us to immerse ourselves in a bygone era. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this nostalgic experience and eagerly await the Goodwood Revival 2024.

Revival Great visit. Fab atmosphere so many people in fantastic outfits. Very muddy underfoot in bad weather.
