Barleygate Cottage

The Vale of Glamorgan's quiet countryside surrounds this converted stable block cottage, positioned within the grounds of a country estate with direct views towards the Heritage Coast. Barleygate Cottage is one of several properties in the restored stone building, though you have the whole place to yourself. A single bedroom and bathroom serve two guests, with the real character coming from the stone walls, flagged floors and a conservatory that opens onto the kitchen garden—the kind of space where you can watch the light change across the grounds through the day.

Electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard. The estate gardens are yours to wander, and the Heritage Coast is visible from the property. A pub sits within a mile, while Cowbridge—a market town with genuine history—makes an easy drive. The Wales Coastal Path and local beaches are close enough for a morning's exploration. The cottage does not allow smoking, and one well-behaved pet is welcome to stay.
