Arrived at the holiday inn at about 1.30pm yesterday. We knew check in was 2pm, so asked if we could get some lunch. We were told they were waiting on a food delivery, but could have a pizza, which was fine. Was "checked in" & after an hour or so in our room, surprisingly (& luckily we were all clothed) another family entered our room with their key card!!!! They were very apologetic. Turns out we hadnt actually been checked in, therefore our room was appearing as vacant on the system. Went to reception (different check in staff) who apologised & offered a free drink with our dinner, & there starts another issue. We order, after 10 mins get told theres no salad, delivery had turned up, but no salad 😲🙄 after 50 mins & people who were behind us ordering got their food before us, we asked where ours was & the reply was " oh, havnt you had your food yet" 😡 another 10 mins later our food arrived cold & my grandsons beans looked like the had been left in a saucepan for about an hour. Again was offered free drinks/desserts, but wanted refund on the 2 meals, which i got. I, & my family never complain, we are easy going polite people, but this was not acceptable. The young lady who dealt with us was lovely, i felt quite sorry for her as there were other complaints, but her & the lady who took our order seemed to be doing everything, & the manager was the stand in "chef". Three staff on a bank holiday weekend in a fully booked hotel is just not on. Only plus to our stay was a clean room. Would definitely NOT recommend, or stay again.

We stayed overnight for a morning flight, it is excellent for Cardiff airport. Friendly, efficient staff. Clean spacious rooms, comfy bed (great shower!). A shuttle bus took us to the airport and was waiting for us across the road from departures when we returned. We just parked up in the long stay area, took our keys with us and just drove off on return. The bar is great, good service and reasonable prices and the breakfast was more than adequate. Plenty of it. The only downside is the evening restaurant menu is very limited. We took the car and went out to eat, there are a few places nearby. Well worth the price for 2 weeks parking and overnight b&b.

Arrived here to rest the head before flying off the next day. Staff welcoming was great and overall very professional and pro active. Lounge area is clean and tidy with staff quite often walking around cleaning tables or pushing seats in, fixing menus. The room was well presented, clean and fresh. All essential bits and bobs like clean towels, clean bedding with the option of either a soft pillow or firmer one. Room also included a kettle, cups, tea bags and coffee. Bar prices are a little harsh on the pocket to be fair. For the room, breakfast and one week bay parking for £90 is very good. Will be booking the same again very soon. Great work.

We have stayed here on many occasions before we fly. The staff have always been friendly and very helpful. The rooms are basic, but have everything you need and are always very clean. There is not a lot of variety on the menu, but we have always had a good meal. Breakfast is basic but enough for me and my husbands needs. Great location for airport, there are 2 pubs close by, the fontegary inn and the highway man, both are excellent for food.
