Adults-only touring park a few minutes from Wells Cathedral
About Wells Touring Park
Wells Touring Park occupies a peaceful spot at Haybridge, just outside Wells, with the Mendip Hills as a backdrop and the city's famous cathedral a short walk away. This adults-only site attracts couples and older travellers seeking a quiet base for exploring Somerset's show caves, gorges and market towns. Pitches include hardstandings with electric hook-up and a few grass options, while full-service pitches add private water and waste connections for longer stays.
The facilities are well maintained—heated shower blocks, a small café-bar serving light meals and takeaways, and proper dishwashing areas keep things comfortable. Reviewers praise the helpful owners and spotless grounds, though some note that pitches can feel a little close together during busier periods. Open year-round, it's a solid, no-fuss choice for touring Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and the city itself.

What visitors say
Wells touring park was recommended to us by our previous campsite! What a great recommendation! Very friendly welcome! Lovely clean and tidy fully serviced pitch! Fantastic toilet/showers/ laundry/pot wash area! All immaculate! There's excellent waste water and fresh water taps and clean recycling and grey water areas! This place is a little gem! The family owned park also make their own Gin and liqueur. The little Bar and pizza hut are brilliant! Again lovely friendly service! Nothing was too much trouble! The park is just outside the beautiful city of Wells! ( Bishops palace is a must!) There's a bus stop right outside the gates for easy access! Nice cycle along the Strawberry line! All in all it was a pleasure to stay here and we look forward to returning!

Camped at this site 8 to 10th June 2026 and agree it is a lovely tidy site with lovely ABLED facilities but the DISABLED facilities were dreadful. Awful and disabled shower was unusable due to it being too near a wall mounted stool covered with mould and with old and used water sloshing around inside.....disabled as I am I will never go back without my own facilities because until the disabled facilities are treated the same as those provided for able bodied facilities who would?

We had a lovely warm welcome from the lady in reception, sorry we didn't get her name. Gave us lots of information on places to see and do in the lovely City of Wells. Excellent campsite about a 30 min walk into Wells. Bus stops are located outside if you don't fancy walking. Fantastic shower facilities, modern and extremely clean. The grounds on site are exceptionally neat and tidy and the staff are lovely. There's a nice bar on site with a good selection of beer, ciders, coffee's pastries, pasties etc. The lady that served us was the same lady from reception and was absolutely lovely. Excellent TV reception and good WiFi. We really enjoyed our stay here and we would certainly recommend it.

Our 3rd time of visiting in our moho will almost certainly come again. Had 3 different pitches and never needed to use ramps! One down side this visit the pizza oven was operating due to site being very quiet.
