Hungerford sits in the North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where walking and cycling routes fan out across chalk downland. Olivers Barn is a converted agricultural building offering four bedrooms and three bathrooms to sleep eight guests in their entirety. The ground floor contains an open-plan living space with a wood burner, a dining area, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—oven, hob, dishwasher and all the basics. A utility room with washing machine handles laundry. Upstairs are two further bedrooms. Three of the four rooms have ensuite bathrooms; a shower room serves the remaining space.
Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. Heating comes from an air-source heat pump with underfloor heating throughout, plus wood for the burner is supplied initially. The kitchen works for self-catering or, by arrangement, the owner can arrange an on-site chef to provide meals or celebration cakes. One dog stays free and has use of the enclosed rear garden with patio, BBQ and seating, though must remain on lead as the property sits on working farmland. Parking for four cars is on site, and there is an electric car charging point. A footpath from the front door leads into the surrounding countryside. No smoking indoors.

This is a sunning barn decorated to a very high standard. No expense has been spared on the decor and it was a very comfortable place to spend a weekend. It has 4 double bedrooms and a huge living, dining, kitchen space with a good sized garden and enough parking for at least 4 cars. (And a charging port.) We came here with three other couples and we had a fantastic weekend. One night we ate at the Pheasant down the road and one night we ate in. Our designated chef found the kitchen well equipped enough to cook two Thai curries and spring rolls from scratch. We also went into Hungerford for lunch and a wander. I can definitely recommend Elaine's of Hungerford.
