Laughing Waters
West Devon
Laughing Waters is a single-storey detached lodge built into a private valley near Chillaton. The whole property is yours alone, arranged on ground level around an open-plan living space where the bedroom, sitting area, dining corner and kitchen all flow together. A double bed, sofas, shower room and kitchen with electric cooker and washing machine make up the essentials. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included in the rate, and one dog stays free.
A stream runs unfenced through the garden, so the setting is genuinely rural and a little wild. There is a veranda and seated area outside where you can watch the water, and parking for one car is on the road above. The lodge draws its water from a natural spring. Mobile signal is available through EE; broadband is connected. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
The location sits on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, which stretches across the border between Devon and Cornwall. Walking, riding and climbing are all within reach, and the landscape itself is the main draw—open moorland, valleys and tors rather than villages and attractions. Arrival is after 4pm, departure before 10am.
