Hexworthy is a moorland village on the edge of Dartmoor, where the West Dart River winds through and walking trails lead straight from the surrounding countryside onto the open moor. Little Meadow stands detached within its own grounds, with a natural stream running beside the garden and sitting-out area. One dog is welcome, though must stay on a lead in this sheep country.
The cottage has three bedrooms sleeping five: a double, two singles, and a single, plus one bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, the living and dining room has a wood burner (initial logs provided), Freeview TV and DVD player, while the kitchen is equipped for self-catering with an electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. A conservatory and separate toilet complete the ground floor. Bed linen, towels and wifi are included; heating and electricity are payable to the owner. The property draws water from a spring, and there is an unfenced stream in the garden.
The Forest Inn is within a mile's walk. Widecombe-in-the-Moor, roughly 20 minutes away, has characterful pubs, tea rooms, and shops. Walking from the cottage leads along the river valley and up onto Dartmoor; the terrain suits families with children and those wanting an active base without leaving the immediate area.
