South Wing Cottage
West Devon
West Devon's countryside between the Tamar and Tavy rivers draws visitors for walking, history and the quieter side of Devon. South Wing Cottage sits on a private lane within 29 acres of grounds, a Grade II listed building that began life as butler's quarters to the main house in the early 1800s. The cottage is yours alone, and one dog stays free.
Inside: a kitchen with electric cooking and dishwasher, a living room with smart TV, two bedrooms (one kingsize, one with two singles), and a shower room plus separate toilet. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all sorted. Parking is on site, and there's an enclosed garden with seating and furniture. An electric car charging point is available. The lane is quiet, though the river runs through the grounds 500 metres away, and the water supply comes from a reservoir.
Bere Alston station is 2 miles away; Tavistock with its independent shops and market is a short drive. Plymouth's maritime museums and harbour are reachable for a day out. Cotehele House and Buckland Abbey lie within reasonable reach for anyone interested in the area's medieval heritage. No smoking indoors.
