The Pines

Families and larger groups will find The Pines works well for a shared getaway. Four bedrooms and five bathrooms mean everyone has their own ensuite; each bedroom has zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as doubles or twins. The ground floor is open-plan, centred on a living space with woodburner and doors opening to the patio. The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking from scratch—induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. A utility room has a washing machine. There's a cot and highchair available if you need them.

Outside, an enclosed garden has a private hot tub that fits eight, patio furniture and a gas barbecue. Parking is available for four cars, and there's an electric vehicle charging point. One dog can stay free. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, and the heating is underfloor throughout.

Lincoln is about five miles away—the cathedral and castle are the obvious draws, and Bailgate's independent shops and restaurants give an evening out an historic feel. A 50-acre nature reserve down the lane is good for walks and bird watching. The property sits on a quiet country lane with no through traffic.
