Our stay at The Retreat in Nettleham was absolutely perfect! The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and incredibly comfortable. It had everything we could possibly need — the attention to detail was fantastic. The bed was super comfy, ensuring a great night’s sleep every night. The private courtyard was a real highlight — so peaceful and quiet, with birds singing in the trees, and the hot tub was just amazing for relaxing after a day out. Nettleham itself feels like stepping back in time — such a charming village where everyone is friendly and welcoming. We loved the local pubs, the cosy tea room, and the handy Co-op just around the corner. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay — highly recommended, and we can’t wait to come back!

We have just enjoyed four nights at The Retreat in Nettleham and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly relaxing and luxurious holiday destination. The cottage itself is definitely the most luxurious and comfortable place I’ve ever stayed. It was immaculately clean and no expense has been spared in providing everything you could possibly want. The garden is very private and peaceful and I loved the hot tub. The village itself is small but still provides a few takeaways and three pubs as well as numerous short but pleasant walks (I enjoyed some morning runs along country paths) so you don’t need to go far afield if you don’t want to. If you do want to venture out, Lincoln is about 15-20 minutes on a regular bus and there’s plenty to see and do there. We also really enjoyed heading to the Lincolnshire Wolds for longer walks: their website provides plenty of options. Louise is a superb host. I’ve never been sent a detailed welcome pack in advance when I’ve stayed anywhere else but this made it really easy to plan our holiday. She checked in on us via WhatsApp when we arrived so, though everything was perfect, if we had needed anything it would’ve have been a problem. We would definitely return.

Had a wonderful stay at The Retreat in Nettleham. 5 Stars and more. Delightful house, well equipped with everything you will need for your stay and more. Louise is available for any information or questions you may have regarding the area. Many little extras and Louise has paid great attention to detail. Lovely village, in easy reach of Lincoln, we went in by bus, so easy. Well worth a visit. Dog friendly pubs in the village all doing nice food if you don’t wish to cook. We visited a National Trust site, Belton House, nearby. Nice grounds to walk around, deer grazing, dog friendly in the grounds, lovely coffee shop and nice staff. Woodhall Spa is worth a visit, nice high street, lots of nice coffee shops and boutiques, a lovely deli and fabulous bakers shop. We visited The Kinema in the woods, a vintage cinema , lots of memorabilia in the foyer, you can watch a classic or modern film there. If you are into golf Woodhall Spa golf club is worth a visit. We visited the Dambusters Inn a nearby pub packed with memorabilia and photos relating to the famous bombing raid. Dog friendly and serves good food. The weather was great, really hot, too hot for the hot tub but my husband did give it a go and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice enclosed back garden, great if you have a dog and many nice walks in the village. First time visiting Lincolnshire and hope to return in the future.

The Retreat is just beautiful, a hidden gem with a hot tub which we took daily advantage of! Lovely furnishings and a perfect position to explore Lincoln and surrounding countryside. Louise provides lots of information as well as leaving treats for her guests and pets…my dog especially loved the blanket! A very relaxing place to stay and I shall definitely try to book again when in the area. Thanks Louise 👍🏼😁
