Aisgill Farm - The Wool Loft
Westmorland and Furness
Couples seeking a rural base in the Eden Valley will find The Wool Loft a practical choice. This traditional stone cottage sits on a working beef and sheep farm, with views across rolling fields and open countryside. The ground floor is an open-plan living and dining space; upstairs, a double bedroom with an ensuite shower. The cottage is warmed by oil central heating, and essentials like bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided. An enclosed courtyard garden with seating and furniture offers a quiet spot outside, and there is private parking for two cars.
Walking is the main draw. The Howgill Fells are accessible directly from the property, and quiet country lanes suit cycling. Kirkby Stephen, six miles away, is a working market town with independent shops, cafés and restaurants, plus the heritage railway station on the Carlisle–Settle line. Kendal lies twenty miles south and serves as a gateway to the Lake District's attractions, including Windermere. The cottage's water comes from a spring on the farm. No smoking is permitted inside.
