Breasty Haw is a detached cottage built in the traditional Lakeland style, standing on an acre of mature woodland near Grizedale. The house takes its name from the steep wooded hillside nearby. Grizedale Forest and its network of walks and cycling routes begin at the gate, making this a genuine base for outdoor activity rather than a retreat that happens to be near them.
Three bedrooms sleep six: two with kingsize beds and one with bunks. There are two bathrooms, one with a spa bath. Downstairs holds a living room with wood burner, a second sitting room with a sofa bed, and a kitchen/dining room equipped for self-catering. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. There's parking for four cars on site, an enclosed garden, and bike storage. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The property is non-smoking.
This works for families wanting forest access and outdoor pursuits, or groups who value space and quiet. The Eagle's Head lies nearby for an evening out.
