You cross the threshold of Fallbarrow Hall into a Grade II listed Victorian Gothic mansion that spans multiple floors and two separate annexes. The scale hits you immediately: 18 bedrooms, each with its own ensuite, sleeping up to 36 people under one roof. This is a property for large groups—family gatherings, milestone celebrations, reunions—where everyone has genuine privacy but the whole party stays together.
The main house unfolds through layers. Downstairs, a cinema room with Netflix and a games room with pool table and table tennis set the tone for shared time. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking at scale, with separate utility spaces housing additional fridges and laundry facilities. Dining and living rooms branch off the main floors. Every bedroom is a kingsize or zip-and-link double with an ensuite shower or bath, heated towel rails, and toilet. The two annexes provide additional self-contained living quarters, each with its own kitchen, living area and bedrooms, useful if your group prefers some separation. A hot tub is available for the evenings.
Fallbarrow Lodge sits on Windermere itself, and you are within walking distance of Bowness. Pets stay free, wifi and all essentials including bed linen and towels are provided. No smoking throughout. Check in is after 16:00, departure before 10:00.

I’ve had the pleasure of DJing a corporate party at Fallbarrow Hall, and it’s an absolutely stunning venue in the heart of the Lake District. The views are incredible, the mansion has some fantastic spaces for music entertainment, and it creates such a special atmosphere throughout the day. We also had a saxophonist performing during the drinks reception, which worked brilliantly and really added to the occasion, the staff were so easy to work with and the event co-ordinator really responsive. It was a lovely evening from start to finish, and I’d happily recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue or event in Windermere.

We hired Fallbarrow Hall for a 30th birthday weekend with a large group and it was absolutely the right call. The house is stunning - loads of space, beautifully set up, and it lends itself perfectly to a big group celebration. There is enough space to gather everyone in one big room but also lots of different spaces to spread out. Everything was exactly as described and the team was very responsive to any requests (cold storage for parcels arriving early was very helpful). Really appreciated how smooth it all was given we had a lot of moving parts to coordinate for the weekend. Everyone had a brilliant time and the house genuinely made the occasion. We had lots of privacy, the views were stunning, and getting some golden hour photos in front of the house was a highlight. Highly recommend it for anyone planning something similar.
