What visitors say
After arriving and upgrading to a superior lodge we were put in cabin 37A, I highly recommend if you book a superior lodge ( dog friendly )that you ask in advance to not be put in that cabin, it was run down and grotty. That being said we raised this with the reception team who sent the accommodation manager down within minutes who agreed it was nothing like the photos that led us to upgrade our accommodation choice. We headed back to reception & Martin & his team (apologies if wrong name ) could not have been more helpful as we requested to go in any other level of cabin/caravan which was modern like we’d booked. He explained the levels of ‘ luxury ‘ were now based on square footage so it can be a surprise when it’s not up to standard! Within a few minutes we got a phone call to say they could move us to a different cabin and it would be cleaned & ready in two hours. When we went to the new cabin it was everything we expected and made our holiday as I had paid for the upgrade as a birthday surprise for my partner. Couldn’t be more thankful to the reception team for finding a quick solution and resolving the issue. We were moved in to CA25 which was perfect. The bar was lovely to sit in the sun & dog friendly. Park as a whole was beautifully kept and spotless, perfect for family/couples/solo/dogs. Location is brilliant for days out to Windermere/ambleside/grasmere/Keswick. We would come back in the future☺️

In terms of accommodation you get what you pay for, you can pay more for a bigger caravan/lodge with decking/balcony or lake view. Staff are friendly and helpful, great to have a pool on site but it's a shame that it's limited to 45 minute sessions (which you have to book) and not open all the time to come and go as we please. The site has a convenience store but when I visited at 17:40 it was closed, I'm sure if it was open later people would use it more. Nice to see rabbits and ducks in the area. Would be good if there was an area of the lake dedicated to park dean that was suitable for swimming or water sports.

We’ve had a lovely stay at White Cross Bay Holiday Park and would definitely come back. The lodge was comfortable, the park is in a great location, and it’s been the perfect place to relax and switch off. The staff deserve a special mention. Everyone we spoke to was friendly, approachable and genuinely lovely throughout our stay. A big thank you also to the security guard who went above and beyond when my fiancée lost her bank card. Someone had handed it in, and when we called out of hours, he was incredibly helpful and even offered to drop it off at our lodge for us. That level of customer service was really appreciated. A couple of small things stopped it being a 5-star review. The fridge is positioned very close to the curtain, so the fridge door catches and gets stuck, which led to a small spill. We cleaned it up as best we could. The other issue was the hot tub. When we took the cover off, there were quite a few dead flies floating on the surface and sitting on the bottom. We understand it’s outdoors and insects are unavoidable, but it could have done with a clean beforehand. Overall though, we’ve had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend White Cross Bay to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the Lake District. 😊

Hired a lodge for a week & it was lovely. Very comfortable, decorated nicely with all the amenities you need. Lovely, clean park, with nice, helpful staff. There's a clubhouse on-site ,which serves nice food & drinks, although the music was too loud so couldn't really have a conversation without shouting. Will return.
