Gilmore House

Westmorland and Furness

View on Google Maps

Alston sits at the heart of walking and cycling country. The town itself occupies the highest point in England, with cobbled streets and views across the North Pennines and Eden Valley. The Coast to Coast route passes through, drawing cyclists of all abilities; walkers can head straight out from the property onto country paths. A pub lies within a mile, and local villages offer traditional tea rooms and pubs. Drive a short distance and you reach the northern Lake District and Lake Ullswater, where steamers run across the water.

Gilmore House is a Victorian terraced property with two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles) and a bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, there are two living spaces—one with an open fire—plus a kitchen/dining room equipped to cook from scratch, with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The house has its own parking space, and a lawned garden with seating looks onto a shared courtyard; the garden itself is not enclosed. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking indoors. The property sleeps four and is yours alone for the duration of your stay.
