Kim's Retreat is a ground-floor apartment designed around convenience and easy access. Everything sits on one level—the living and dining spaces, kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom are all reached without stairs. The main bedroom has a king bed, the second has two singles, and there's a bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. A patio door opens to a small seating area outside.
The location matters here. Bowness is a short, level walk away, making it practical if you don't want to drive every time you want a meal or a look at the shops. The Lake itself—Windermere—is close enough to visit on foot. A pub is within a mile. There's private parking for one car on site, and Wi-Fi throughout. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The property is strictly non-smoking.
This suits couples or a family of four who want a base for exploring the southern Lake District without much fuss, and who value being able to walk to restaurants and attractions rather than relying on the car.

Do not book this place, no hot water for 3 nights because of a broken thermostat and my kids had no hot water for shower for 3 nights, no action taken to fix it, do not let this place ruin your holiday!

An honest review of our experience. The apartment is excellent. Generally clean and we'll equipped. Excellent position with just a short walk, 5mins or so to the amenities of Bowness. However we encountered a couple of problems. Firstly 2 days before we arrived we were informed our check in times had been altered to 1700 and 0900 for checkout. This info was provided after the cancellation deadline for any refund!!! 0900 is too early for checkout and we would never have booked accommodation requiring such an early checkout. Upon arrival the apartment smelt very foisty. This was traced to washed but damp towels left on every bed. The small remained throughout our 3 day stay. We feel we paid a premium price for our 3 nights and we're met with half a toilet roll, no spare. No kitchen roll or any sort of welcome pack. A pint of milk would have been nice. Finally the apartment block is noisy with the constant sound of banging doors being very frustrating day and night. It is a really nice apartment with everything you could need but lacking a little attention to detail for the price paid. Would I stay again no personally speaking just me and the wife just lacking in a few areas for us.
