Greystoke Forest borders this property, and nearby villages—Greystoke, Caldbeck, Mungrisdale and Hesketh Newmarket—are all within reach for a pub meal or local shopping. The setting between Keswick, Penrith, Carlisle and Ullswater makes it a practical base for exploring the northern Lake District, while Blencathra is visible across the surrounding countryside.
Larchwood is a detached timber lodge where ground-floor living makes for straightforward access. The open-plan space combines living, dining and kitchen in one area, with a kingsize bedroom and ensuite on the same level. Two further bedrooms—one with singles, one with bunks—and a second bathroom complete the arrangement. You get electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and fast wifi included. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly: oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Streaming services are available on the living-room TV.
Gardens surround the property on three sides, with a decked area, furniture, a gas BBQ and a fire pit. There's room to park three cars on site and a store for bikes. Red squirrels, hares, roe deer and numerous birds inhabit the woodland; seeds and nuts in the shed encourage them closer. One pet stays free. The grounds contain a fenced pond 20 yards from the lodge.
