Rowanburn Lodge is a ground-floor detached property in a quiet rural setting on the edge of Greystoke Forest, where red squirrels and roe deer are regular visitors to the grounds. The whole lodge is yours alone, sleeping up to six across three bedrooms: a double with ensuite shower, two singles, and a bunk room. A second bathroom with bath and shower serves the rest of the house. The open-plan living space includes a kitchen fitted for proper cooking, with dishwasher and washing machine, plus a sitting area with Freeview TV and DVD player.
Outside, the large landscaped garden has multiple sitting areas and an enclosed decked section where a red squirrel feeding box attracts the local wildlife. There is a fenced pond 10 yards from the house. Private parking fits two cars. One well-behaved pet stays free. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered in the price.
The lodge sits centrally between Keswick, Penrith and Ullswater, making it a practical base for exploring the northern Lake District. Villages within reach include Greystoke, Caldbeck and Hesketh Newmarket, each with pubs and shops; the nearest amenities are 4 miles away. No smoking inside the property.
