Lily Cottage

Lily Cottage sits within the Low Jock Scar estate, a sprawling property of mature gardens and woodland a few miles north of Kendal. The cottage is a single-storey building where everything happens on one level: a living and dining room with Freeview TV and DVD player, a kitchen with electric cooker and full-size fridge, a bedroom with a kingsize bed, and a shower room. The grounds around the cottage are shared with other properties on the estate, and include a lawned garden with patio, furniture and a barbecue. There is a beck close by, and steps within the grounds. One car can park on site.

Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, and oil heating keeps the cottage warm. A cot is available if needed, and laundry facilities can be arranged on request. The estate's woodland and gardens shift with the seasons—bluebells in late spring, autumn colour later on—and the grounds attract woodpeckers, deer and hares. The location works well as a base for exploring both the Lake District to the west and the Dales to the east, though the quiet setting here pulls equally hard. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
