Lord Mayor's Barn is a converted stone barn on the edge of Alston, a market town in the Pennines. You arrive into a living room dominated by an arched window that frames views across towards the fells; a wood burner sits ready for colder evenings, with initial logs provided. The kitchen and dining space sit on the ground floor alongside the bathroom, while two bedrooms and their en-suites are upstairs—a double and two singles, sleeping four in total. The property is yours alone, with parking for three cars and a bike store outside.
The barn combines original beams and exposed stonework with modern comforts: a dishwasher and washing machine in the kitchen, a bath with shower, heating throughout, and Wi-Fi. Bed linen and towels are included. A patio with garden furniture opens from the property. Alston's pubs and shops are within walking distance. The location works well for exploring the Pennines, the Lake District and Hadrian's Wall, with countryside walks, cycling routes and fishing all nearby. No smoking inside.
