Nell’s Cottage

Nell's Cottage is a ground-floor property sleeping two, with everything on one level from the moment you step inside. The living room has a woodburner, the kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals, and the bedroom contains a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as a super king or split into singles. A conservatory overlooks open countryside and a trout lake, with views stretching towards the higher fells. The shower room includes a grab rail. Parking for one car sits on the property, and an enclosed garden with patio and barbecue is yours alone.

The cottage is coastal Westmorland, surrounded by farmland and open country rather than built-up areas. Coniston Water and Windermere lie within 14 miles; closer by are Sandscale Haws (National Trust beach and dunes), South Lakes Wild Animal Park, and the Haverthwaite Steam Railway. The Duddon Valley and Muncaster Castle make solid day trips. A pub and shop are roughly a mile and a half away. Bed linen, towels, wifi and logs for the fire are included. No smoking throughout.
